Heritage

Graissac is built on volcanic rock at an altitude of 915m.
There is a 15th – 16th century Romanesque church with a bell tower dating from the mid 19th century.
The square contains a 15th century sculpted cross. From the terrace ther is a beautiful panorama over the Carladez , the Plomb du Cantal (the highest mountain in the area) and the castle at Thénières.
One can find sculpted roadside crosses as at Cayrac, Banes or Brenac.

Brenac

Brenac: a charming village.
The church was rebuilt in 1863-1870 but it has kept its 15th century Gothic doorway.
On the River Argence one can find the mill of Faula which worked for the Seigneur of Thénières and is nowadays the only functioning mill in the area (private property, visits by arrangement).
